Also in a separate speech on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program, Pelosi assured that the United States is not going to be accomplices in isolating Taiwan.

Earlier, the Chinese Defense Ministry warned the United States that American support for Taiwan would seriously harm the integrity of the PRC. "We will resolutely defend national sovereignty and leave no room for any form of "Taiwan independence" and external interference," the ministry said.

The situation around Taiwan became more complicated after Pelosi's visit to the island on August 2. Until the last moment, the United States did not confirm information about whether the Speaker of the US House of Representatives will visit Taipei during his Asian tour.
